Booking a Can-Am Ryker tour in Marbella is one of the best decisions you'll make on your Costa del Sol holiday. But what should you actually wear? Getting your outfit right makes a huge difference to your comfort, safety, and the quality of your photos. Here's everything you need to know.
The Golden Rule: Closed-Toe Shoes
This is non-negotiable. You must wear closed-toe shoes for your Can-Am Ryker tour — trainers, sneakers, or light hiking shoes all work perfectly. No flip-flops, sandals, or open shoes of any kind. This is a safety requirement and will be checked before departure.
Clothing: Light Layers Are Best
In summer (June-September), a lightweight t-shirt and comfortable shorts or trousers are ideal. Even at 30°C, there's always a breeze on the coastal roads, so having a light jacket tied around your waist or in a small backpack is useful for the mountain sections. In spring and autumn, a medium-weight jacket is recommended.
What About Helmets and Gloves?
Full helmet and gloves are provided by Marbella Tour and included in the price. You don't need to bring your own. Our helmets are cleaned and sanitised between every use. Gloves are especially important as they protect your hands from sun and wind during the ride.
Sun Protection Is Essential
Marbella averages 320 sunny days per year, and the sun feels intensely strong when riding. Apply SPF50 sunscreen before your tour — particularly on your neck, forearms, and any exposed skin. Sunglasses are highly recommended (they fit under the visor) to protect against UV and wind.
What to Bring With You
Keep it light. A small backpack or crossbody bag works best — your guide will show you how to secure it safely. Bring your phone for photos at the scenic stops, some water, and your car driving licence (required for all riders). Leave large bags and valuables at your accommodation.
Photography Tips
If you want to capture the experience, a GoPro mounted on the Ryker is by far the best option — Marbella Tour offers GoPro rental as an add-on. For phone photography, the scenic stops give you plenty of time to get great shots. Avoid trying to photograph while moving.
