Forty-eight hours is enough for Marbella if you sequence it right: culture while it is cool, beach while it is hot, the port when it lights up, and the coast roads at golden hour. Here is the plan we give our own visiting friends.
Day 1, morning: Old Town before the heat
Breakfast on Plaza de los Naranjos, then wander the whitewashed lanes while the light is soft and the tour groups are still at their hotels. One hour is enough; two is better.
Day 1, afternoon: beach club mode
Pick your energy: party bed at a big-name club or grilled espetos at a quiet chiringuito on the Golden Mile. Either way, book the afternoon shift — Marbella's beach light peaks after 3pm.
Day 1, evening: Puerto Banús at full glow
Dinner on the marina among the yachts, then a slow walk along the front line as the supercars roll past. Stay for a cocktail; the port is at its best after dark.
Day 2, morning: ride the coast on a Ryker
This is the block to book in advance. The 90-minute guided Can-Am Ryker tour leaves from Marbella Arena next to Puerto Banús and strings together the Golden Mile, Nueva Andalucía's villa streets and the sea viewpoint — with your guide shooting photos of you at every stop. Car license only, two per machine, 60€ per Ryker. Morning slots have the clearest light over the sea.
Day 2, afternoon: Golden Mile, slowly
Lunch with your feet near the sand, then work back toward Marbella along the Golden Mile: promenade, beach bars, a detour into the boutiques if the credit card is feeling brave.
Day 2, evening: sunset from above
Finish where the coast shows off: a viewpoint over the bay for sunset. If you fell for the Ryker in the morning, a 24-hour rental (140€) turns this into your own golden-hour ride — the best possible last memory of Marbella.
